Pampuri is
a reception centre for asylum seekers and refugees in downtown Brescia.
I spent a
few weeks there with the purpose of documentation.
At the
beginning I focused on the guys from all
over the world who live and study in Pampuri.
After a while, I thought the subject I
would like to focus on was Maria, 25 years old,
an Italian
teacher who works in the centre.

Chapter I - The desert is a woman
She showed
me her diary, notes on scattered pieces of paper in which she wrote her
reflections that arise
from the
italian classes to her students waiting for asylum. In those notes come to light the space between.
Between
women and men, between Europe and Africa, between different cultures.
